About Divine Mercy School

The Early Childhood and Extended Care Programs lay the groundwork for a faith-based education.  The Program offers both full-day and half-day childcare for children ages 2-4, as well as before and after school care for grade school students.

At Divine Mercy School, the focus is on spiritual development and academic excellence, providing our students with a solid foundation for high school and beyond. The campus offers high-tech computer labs, specialty teachers in music, art, and physical education.

The basic curriculum consists of classes in religion, mathematics, language arts, reading, science, and social studies. Students also have the opportunity to participate in library time.  A comprehensive Drug and Alcohol Prevention program is in place at this school. The D.A.R.E Program is used in Grade 5. This program is done and taught by a specially trained South Milwaukee Police Officer. A fire safety unit is taught to the fifth grade by the South Milwaukee Fire Department.  Third grade students participate in a bicycle safety program in the spring.

Divine Mercy School supports its students in a wide variety of athletic activities. Team sports include: soccer (co-ed), basketball (girls and boys), and volleyball (girls). We also offer Children's Choir, Girl Scouting, and Boy Scouting throughout the year.

Our school has a dedicated, certified staff and a positive environment that is conducive to learning. Students attend a weekly liturgy in which they are active participants. Divine Mercy School promotes high standards of conduct. An active Home and School Association supports the educational program. Divine Mercy students learn to live as Jesus did – dedicated to serving others with love and compassion.

We, the dedicated families, staff, and parish members of Divine Mercy Catholic School, join together as a prayer-centered faith community rooted in the Gospel message. Inspired by the teachings of Jesus, and challenged by the ever-growing needs of our society, we share with all members of the community a responsibility for educating the total child. Within a nuturing environment, active learners strive towards spiritual growth and academic excellence.

We respect the diversity and uniqueness of each individual and work cooperatively to build a sense of truthfulness and trust. Through meaningful interaction, we use our gifts and talents to serve the needs of others. By employing innovative strategies and techniques, we prepare our students to meet the challenges of the future.

We share the responsibility of global stewardship and resolve to enrich the quality of life for all people! Through spiritual formation, we prepare and empower our children to become future leaders of the church to carry on the Catholic traditions, values, and beliefs.

We are called to act with justice, love, service and humility.
