The Early Childhood and Extended Care Programs lay the groundwork for a faith-based education. The Program offers both full-day and half-day childcare for children ages 2-4, as well as before and after school care for grade school students.
At Divine Mercy School, the focus is on spiritual development and academic excellence, providing our students with a solid foundation for high school and beyond. The campus offers high-tech computer labs, specialty teachers in music, art, and physical education.
The basic curriculum consists of classes in religion, mathematics, language arts, reading, science, and social studies. Students also have the opportunity to participate in library time. A comprehensive Drug and Alcohol Prevention program is in place at this school. The D.A.R.E Program is used in Grade 5. This program is done and taught by a specially trained South Milwaukee Police Officer. A fire safety unit is taught to the fifth grade by the South Milwaukee Fire Department. Third grade students participate in a bicycle safety program in the spring.
Divine Mercy School supports its students in a wide variety of athletic activities. Team sports include: soccer (co-ed), basketball (girls and boys), and volleyball (girls). We also offer Children's Choir, Girl Scouting, and Boy Scouting throughout the year.
Our school has a dedicated, certified staff and a positive environment that is conducive to learning. Students attend a weekly liturgy in which they are active participants. Divine Mercy School promotes high standards of conduct. An active Home and School Association supports the educational program. Divine Mercy students learn to live as Jesus did – dedicated to serving others with love and compassion.
